About Us!
The Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District is a legally organized subdivision of the State of Ohio assigned under law to the task of protecting and improving the soil, water, and related natural resources of Morrow County. The district is a three person staffed, government organization supervised by a five member, non-paid, elected board.

Headwaters Outdoor Education Center
Headwaters Outdoor Education Center is located on 150 acres of county owned property just north of the sheriff's office on Home road in Mount Gilead. The education center has been maintained and operated by the Morrow County Soil and Water Conservation District since 1999! Throughout the year free monthly outdoor education programs are held at the education center. Volunteers also hold multiple children education programs throughout the year!
With 3 miles of maintained hiking trails and a pond open everyday from dawn to dusk there truly is something for everyone at Headwaters!

Election Results
At the 73rd Annual Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District Meeting and Banquet on December 3rd, 2022, held an election for two seats on the Board of Supervisors. Congratulations to Lee Rhea and Nate Mosher for winning the two seats. Their term will begin on January 1, 2023 and will serve for three years.
OUR OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED ON February 20th in honor of Presidents Day.

Storybook Trail
The Storybook Trail is now open and ready for a great time to read a book as you hike along the paths of Headwaters Outdoor Education Center. Take advantage of this great resource made available in conjunction with the Mt. Gilead Public Library. Hope to see you out there.

2023 Board Meetings
The Morrow SWCD will meet the first Wednesday of every month. These meetings are held at the Ag Credit Community Room located at 5362 US Highway 42, Suite 201, Mount Gilead, beginning at 8:00 p.m. All meetings are open to the public. Our September meeting will be held at Headwaters Outdoor Education Center, at 151 Home Rd., Mt. Gilead. Anyone wishing to be notified of special meetings or changes in dates, times, or locations of regular meetings should call the SWCD Office at: 419-946-7923.
